Pakistan has continued to host the largest number of refugees in the world over the last three decades, read a report by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
Nearly all the 1.45 million refugees in the country belong to Afghanistan, the report said.
Pakistan had generously hosted the world's largest refugee population for three decades, and it was essential to mobilise more support from the international community, the report recommended.
At the same time, voluntary repatriation of Afghan refugees from Pakistan to their home country had also been the largest in the world, said the report.
Since March 2002, UNHCR has facilitated the return of approximately 4.1mn registered Afghans from Pakistan, it added.

You bring Refugees and you have problems.
Now same problem in Turkey with syrian refugees.
It is unfortunate that whatever you do with them they are never happy and will always blame you for their misfortune.
Sad but a fact of life same happened with Pakistan, Afghanis are not grateful to what we did but think we were unfair and unjust to them

Hope UNHCR excluded poor Pakistanis in total count. There is hardly any difference in living condition of our poor people and those came from Afghanistan.

I think Turkey has more Syrian Refugees than 1.4 million afghans.
Although its also a fact, we have much more undocumented Afghans and Bengalis etc.

somebody acknowledged it at last! will US notice this and do something to support because even US does not have this kind of generous attitude towards the refugees and blaming Pakistan for not doing anything to curb the terrorism in Afghanistan. Further, the US is using Pakistan soil to provide the ammunition and other stuffs through Karachi port. Isn't it a double standard? USA is playing both with Pakistani and India because it wants to sell their weapons and earn a billions of money.

Facts about refugees in Pakistan are correct. However, these refugees were created by Pakistani policies and support of Taliban in Afghanistan.
