Sayonee proves Coke Studio fans can be pretty savage when they don't like a cover

"That's one fond memory of the good old days massacred forever," said one disgruntled fan

Coke studio has come full circle with a decade of great music, produced by some of the best artists in Pakistan.

That being said, even the best fall down sometimes.

The second episode of the musical show's 10th season aired on Friday and featured its rendition of an old time favourite, 'Sayonee' originally performed by Junoon.

As Salman Ahmad was serving as a featured artist and musical director for the track, expectations were running high.

However, fans are evidently not feeling the rework, if social media is any indication of how it's been received.

Ali Azmat must be getting the hiccups...

Shots were fired...

And somehow, Momina Mustehsan was also caught in the crossfire

Fans are so distressed, they're suggesting we get the authorities involved

This guy even went so far to suggest that Eid came early...

Basically, anyone who liked the rendition can't sit with us!

After Salman Ahmed's repeated disastrous come back attempts you now realise who made Junoon what it was.

Absolutely no doubt that Salman has ruined Junoon's legacy just so he can stay somewhat relevant. If reconciliation with Ali is not possible, he should create a new band for his creative outlet (or a solo outfit). But he certainly should understand the feedback from audience, and stop butchering Junoon. Even though Noor and RFK are phenomenal singers in their own right, I am sure they also know Sayonee was not a bright spot for them (not of their own doing). I have seen Ali Azmat live with his own band and his performances are head and shoulders above what Salman comes up with - its clear who the soul of that band was.

Ali Noor, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Salman Ahmed should be publicly flogged for the massacre of Sayonee.

Yes, one cannot listen to it for more than a minute.
