KARACHI: Hosts Sindh and Chromatex Chemicals won separate gold medals that were decided in the 24th National Junior and Cadet Table Tennis Championships at the Majeed Khan indoor gymnasium at Islamia Club on Friday.

Sindh overcome fighting Punjab 3-2 in the final to become new cadet girls team event champions. Balochistan secured the bronze. Defending champions Chromatex did not compete in the event.

Chroamatex, meanwhile, dethrone holders Sindh by inflicting 3-2 defeat to win the junior girls team event title.

At the time of filing this report, the cadet boys and junior boys team event finals were in progress.

Defending champions National Highway Authority (NHA) was up against Railways in the cadet boys team final. The former had carved out 3-0 victory over Sindh while the latter blanked Chromatex by the identical scoreline of 3-0 in the semi-finals.

Similarly, holders Army outplayed Punjab straight 3-0 to set up junior boys team final against Sindh who were home 3-0 over Khyber Pakhtun­khwa in the pre-finals.
