KARACHI: PTCL’s landline telecommunication system in Site industrial area has collapsed since the recent rain spell, claimed Asad Nisar Barkhurdaria, President of the SITE Association of Industry (SAI), in a recent statement.

“Around 70 per cent services to the industries have been affected whereby the landlines and broadband went out of order. The management of PTCL appears negligent toward resolving the issue. No efforts have so far been made by the PTCL officials to rectify the faults,” the SAI chief laments.

A number of industrialists from SITE area echoed the complaint, saying PTCL landline and internet services were barely functional, and complaints received little to no response. Barkhudaria requested the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication to intervene in the matter to get the telecommunication service restored in the Site area on an urgent basis.

Imran Janjua, General Manager of Public Relations at PTCL said he would check and revert with a detailed answer. Till the filing of the report, there was no response from him.
