LAHORE: Five out of the 30 PAS (DMG) promoted by the federal selection board to BS-19 are being given other assignments whereas the rest are being allowed to continue working on their present assignments.

As many as 19 police officials who have been also promoted to BS-19 are also being allowed to hold their present postings.

Many of the promoted officials are serving as deputy commissioners and DPOs in Punjab.

The orders mentioning the promotion of these officials and their postings would be issued in a day or two, official sources said on Thursday.

They said that promotions to the seats fell vacant in BS-18 after the regular appointment of majority officers would be made by the federal selection board in October.

The five officials who would be changed belong to the PAS, and they are working in projects. The rest would be allowed to work on their current posts which belong to their groups of service.

As many as promoted 17 PAS officials belong to the 31st and 32nd Common, and 13 to 33rd and 34th Common. One police official belongs to 30th Common, three belong to 31st Common, eight to 32nd, two to 33rd and five to 34th.

Those who would be transferred include Infrastructure Development Authority of Punjab CEO Mujahid Sherdil, Punjab Intermediate Cities Improvement Investment Programme, Local Government Department, Programme Director Kaiser Saleem, Punjab AIDS Control Programme Project Director Adnan Zafar Khan, Director (Monitoring) in Strategic Management and Inter Policy Unit, Specialized Healthcare and Medical Health Education Department Zaheer Abbas and Lahore Ring Road Authority Director (Estate Management) Muhammad Subail.

The first two have been posted in BS-19 on a regular basis and the remaining three on acting charge basis.

Following PAS officials have been promoted on a regular basis in BS-19 and they will retain their posts:

Special Secretary (Expenditure and Investment), Finance Department Usman Ahmad, Chief Minister Office’s Additional Secretary Zaid bin Maqsood, Rawalpindi ABAD Director General Dr Ehtisham Anwar, Lodhran DC Raja Khurram Shahzad, Chief Minister Office’s Additional Secretary Sajid Zafar Dall, Jhelum DC Iqbal Hussain, Chief Secretary’s Additional Secretary (Coordination) Masood Mukhtar, Lahore ACE Director Adnan Arshad Aulakh, Secondary Healthcare Department’s Muhammad Khan Ranjha, Additional Secretary Finance Sardar Saifullah Dogar, Mandi Bahauddin DC Shaukat Ali, Multan DC Nadir Chattha, Khanewal DC Muzaffar Khan.

Following have been promoted on acting charge basis. Additional Secretary Information Saman Rai, Punjab Land Records Authority Additional Director General Ayesha Hameed, Additional Secretary Local Government Saleha Saeed, Additional Secretary Home Dr Asif Tufail, Lahore DC Sumair Ahmad Syed, Sheikhupura DC Arqam Tariq, OSD Sahibzadi Wasima Umar, Bhakkar DC Dr Syed Bilal Haider, Additional Secretary Finance Kiran Khurshid and PESSI Vice-commissioner Humera Ikram.

The promoted police officials include Gujrat DPO Sohail Zafar Chattha, CTD SSP Intelligence Hammad Abid, Sihala Deputy Commandant Abdul Qadir Qamar, Lahore SSP Admin Ayyaz Saleem, CTD SSP Investigation Shahzad Asif Khan , Sheikhupura DPO Sarfraz Khan Virk, AIG Finance Ghazi Salahuddin, Okara DPO Hasan Asad Alvi, CTD SSP Admin Jawwad Qamar, Rawalpindi SSP Operations Irfan Tariq, Sahiwal DPO Atif Ikram, AIG Inquiries Shakir Hussain Dawar, Vehari DPO Omer Saeed Malik, Punjab Highways Police SP headquarters in Lahore Imran Kishwar, Mandi Bahauddin DPO Umar Farooq Salamat, Nankana Sahib DPO Sahibzada Bilal Omer, Rawlapindi Additional SP Headquarters Amir Abdullah Khan Niazi, Additional Director, Administration, SPU Punjab, Lahore, Mahroof Masood Safdar and CTD SSP Technical Mustafa Hameed Malik.
