GWADAR: A suspected militant was killed and two others were arrested after a heavy exchange of fire in the Malikabad area of Turbat in Kech district late on Tuesday evening.

Official sources said that the personnel of Frontier Corps, along with officials of intelligence agencies, cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation on information about the presence of militants there.

The militants started firing with automatic weapons on the security forces. A heavy exchange of fire continued for some time that resulted in killing of one suspected militant, who was identified as Abdul Sattar, resident of Dasht in Kech district.

Security personnel arrested two suspects identified as Abdul Hafeez and Mohammad Abbas and handed them over to the authorities concerned for interrogation.

Officials claimed that security forces also seized arms and ammunition from the possession of the militants.
