LANDI KOTAL: The political administration has ordered all the Afghan nationals staying illegally to leave Jamrud with an immediate effect.

Officials said that a jirga of elders of Jamrud met assistant political agent Mohammad Riaz on Wednesday and demanded immediate expulsion of all the Afghan families residing illegally in Jamrud since long.

The APA on the recommendations of the jirga issued notices to the Afghan families through the Khasadar force and those local residents who had rented out their properties to Afghans for immediate vacation of their houses.

The administration warned the Afghans of arrest and deportation to Afghanistan along with demolition of the houses if they failed to comply with the official orders.

It was, however, learnt that Afghans with legal registration documents would not be evicted from their homes.

Mr Riaz said that all the registered Afghans were required to give a guarantee of their good conduct for their stay as local elders had accused them of involvement in most the criminal activities in Jamrud and surrounding areas.
