BAHAWALNAGAR: Ten members of a family belonging to Dhuddi Khazan Singh were hospitalised on Monday after consuming unwholesome milk.

District Officer (emergency) Rao Sharafat told Dawn that Subhan, Naseem Bibi, Fauzia, Amiran Bibi, Sharfan Bibi, Rizwan, Akram, Adnan and Arshad were being treated at Bahawalnagar District Headquarters Hospital.

According to Ghumandpur police, it was suspected during investigation that the family was poisoned. But Subhan, head of the family, said a lizard had fallen in a pot carrying milk and they consumed it. Further investigation is under way.

UNCONSCIOUS: An unidentified woman in her 20’s was found unconscious on Monday at Darbar Shah Rasool, according to Rescue 1122.

She was shifted to Bahawalnagar DHQ Hospital.

Eyewitnesses told Rescue 1122 that some suspects threw the woman carrying torture marks outside the shrine and fled. She was said to be critical at the hospital.
