KARACHI: Rayyan Jawad and Abdullah Khan faced tough resistance from Hamid Israr Gul and Parbat Kumar before winning the doubles event final in the DHA-ATF Super Series Tennis Championship here on Thursday at the DHA Creek Club.

Rayyan and Abdullah took the first set 6-4 but Hamid and Parbat drew level by winning the second set 6-3. In the decisive third set Rayyan and Abdullah won by 10-3 to claim the doubles title.

In the Sindh ranking event, organised at the sidelines of the ATF tourney, Erij Batool Zaidi defeated Apsara Sheeraz while Varisha Khan overpowered Aysha Yousuf to set final date in the ladies singles event.

In the under-9 singles final, Zain Ahmed thrashed Hassan Jamil 8-0. In the under-17 semifinals, Mohammad Dada dropped a set before beating Parbat Kumer 7-6 (7-4), 5-7, 10-4 score.
