Women Qazis

Published July 20, 2017

THIS refers to Rafia Zakaria’s article ‘Women qazis in India’ (July 12). The writer has discussed women’s dilemmas in Muslim and Hindu societies.

As a non-Islamic country India is training Muslim women as qazis, Pakistan should adopt it. We see women are forcefully married to unwanted men who later on brutalise them. We find a lack of rights for women and discussions about women in such institutions.
