KARACHI, Jan 4: Eight vehicles — four cars and an equal number of motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, the police said.

The cars were hijacked in Soldier Bazaar, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Shahrah-i- Noorjehan, and Shareefabad.

The motorcycles were stolen in Mehmoodabad, Zaman Town, Azizabad, and Gulberg.

KILLED: Charred body of a boy was recovered from the premises of Gora Qabristan on Friday.

The police said that the body of the unidentified boy was completely charred which was found in the graveyard. It appeared that the boy was sodomized and strangulated before being burnt.

The body was sent to the JPMC for post-mortem.

Sources at the hospital said that the dead boy was in his early teens and the body was so charred that it could not be recognized.

The body had been kept in the Edhi’s morgue for identification, the police said.

WOUNDED: Unidentified assailants shot and wounded a young man in Mohammedi Ground in Malir Colony on Friday night.

The police said that unidentified assailants brought Javed, aged 35, to Mohammedi Ground which was without lights, opened fire on him and escaped.

Javed was rushed to the JPMC where he had been admitted. Sources at the hospital described his condition as serious as he was hit by a bullet in the head.
