"Ronaldinho is in Pakistan? Ronaldinho is in Islamabad? Am I dreaming?"
Updated 08 Jul, 2017

We Pakistanis love it when anyone "foreign" comes to our country and it's no different this time around.

Keen to shine a spotlight on the underrepresented footballing talent in Pakistan, Brazillian football legend Ronaldinho, Manchester United's Ryan Giggs and five other international football stars arrived in Islamabad today.

Brazilian Roberto Carlos too is expected to arrive later in time for the first seven-a-side exhibition match in Karachi tonight.

And of course, we're all set to welcome them with open arms.

It's a moment of pride for sure

Could this be a gateway to get other athletes to come to Pakistan as well?

In addition to the international stars, the teams will also consist of Pakistan's emerging football talent. The visiting players will play two exhibition matches in the country. the first of which kicks off tonight.

Great to see these show matches happening in Pakistan and these top players paying visit to the country with great potential and love for the game, good on them, I hope stadiums get full attendance and I like to see overbooked crowd, come on Pakistan respect them and show your passion for the game, football is the global game not cricket. I am hoping this triggers a revolution in Pakistan for great game of football and Pakistan comes up on the globe with good team...long way to go...
