KARACHI, Aug 8: The staff of the health department of the city government had began anti- fly and mosquito spray on a vast scale.

Beginning on Aug 5, spray has been carried out in low lying areas and areas where water is stagnant in Lyari, Orangi, Gadap, Bin Qasim, Landhi, Korangi, SITE and Keamari towns.

In this regard, four vehicles in each town are carrying out spray whereas cleaning of stormwater drains and sewerage lines and drains is also going on in various areas.

The works and services department of the city government, in coordination with the health departments of towns, is doing the cleaning of drains on a priority basis.

In various areas, stagnant water is being drained out with hired pumps so as to accelerate the pace of work. — APP
