KARACHI, Aug 8: Naftogas of Ukraine has indicated keen interest in Pakistani oil and gas sector and wanted to develop underground gas storage facilities in Pakistan.

According to Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) here on Friday, this interest was expressed during a meeting between the visiting ten- member delegation of Naftogas and a joint team of SSGC and SNGPL led by managing director of SSGC Munawwar Baseer Ahmed. Ambassadors of Ukraine and Turkmenistan to Pakistan were also present on the occasion.

Chief executive of the company Kostien Tyn Frolow was leading the delegation which also showed interest in supplying equipment and material for the upstream and downstream petroleum and gas sector in Pakistan.

The delegation offered technical collaboration to upgrade the skills and expertise of local gas sector professionals.

SSGC and SNGPL team expressed interests in the possible areas of collaboration and both sides agreed to explore the future areas of cooperation.

Earlier, the delegation attended a briefing of SSGC on Pakistani gas sector which highlighted the potential areas of foreign investment and technical collaboration.—APP
