Funerals at Eid

Published June 25, 2017

The blasts in Quetta and Peshawar were a disgusting attempt at spreading hatred between Muslims. On Friday multiple blasts in Quetta and Peshawar killed more than three dozen people and injured around 120. It was on a day of great religious value for all Muslims.

The attackers thought they were targeting Shia Muslims because Shia Muslims are in a majority in the area, but those terrorists actually attacked the whole of Muslim community — humanity itself. Families of those martyred in the attack would be mourning instead of celebrating Eid.

This was an inhumane attempt at breaking peace in Pakistan, but the Pakistani people are now more united than ever. We will stand together and support each other morally and in every way we can, because love and brotherhood are a billion times stronger than hatred.

THE state has miserably failed to stem the tide of terrorism. The invisible hand is at work. We always say that a foreign hand cannot be ruled out, but we do not exploit the proof of such foreign intervention. The case of the Indian spy validates my claim.

It appears the government has lost the battle against terrorism owing to the lack of political will.

We do not need any lament; we need action against those who indulge in blood letting. We strongly condemn the barbaric attacks. The entire humanity is at risk. We must collectively think and plan a fool-proof strategy to combat the menace of terrorism.
