ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) on Thursday announced a three-member selection committee to finalise the national team for the 2018 Blind Cricket World Cup scheduled to be held in Sharjah and Pakistan.

The selection committee would be headed by Syed Salman Bokhari while two other members include Masood Jan and Ibrar Shah, PBCC chairman Syed Sultan Shah said in a press release issued on Thursday.

“As many as eight teams who are World Blind Cricket Ltd full members have been invited to participate in the World Cup. They include Australia, the West Indies, South Africa, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal,” he maintained.

He said four teams had agreed to play in Pakistan but others showed concerns to visit. Therefore, the PBCC had decided to host the World Cup at two venues of Sharjah and Pakistan in January to confirm participation of all countries, added the statement.

However, the final of the World Cup would be played in Pakistan, maintained Sultan who also congratulated Pakistan cricket team and Pakistan Cricket Board on winning the ICC Champions Trophy.
