HYDERABAD, Aug 7: A division bench of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit, on Wednesday allowed a transporter to run his bus service from his stand, provided he undertook that no law and order situation would be created.
The petitioner’s counsel, Agha Khuda Bux, undertook the same before the court after the additional advocate general, Sindh, Masood A. Noorani, raised no objection in the matter.
The matter pertained to the coach stand of Awami National Party leader Aurangzeb Khan whose stand was closed by the police and his buses were impounded after two people were shot dead at the Kallu Chowk on Hali Road last year on Dec 31.
Aurangzeb’s manager, Mohammad Yasin, who is also the in charge of the bus stand, filed a constitutional petition before the court, challenging the police action. He prayed the court to direct the secretary, RTA, and district police officer to protect his business and restrain the SHO from closing the bus stand.
