KARACHI, Jan 4: Four ships carrying high speed diesel and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Saturday, according to KPT sources.
Owing to slow arrivals, berthing activity at the wharves was modest as three ships, Ievoli Shine, Golden Gate, to unload chemicals and crude oil and Al-Wajab to offload and load containers were berthed after the sailing of five.
Sailing on the other hand was active as five ships, X-Press Dhaulagiri, MSC China, Leixoes, Ievoli Shine and Koriana departed, while MOL Sincerity, Usinsk, Kota Sejarah and Golden Gate are due to sail out on Saturday.
Berth occupancy was maintained at 67 per cent on the oil piers and 58 per cent on the dry berth, the fall was attributed to slow arrivals.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.106 million tons, comprising 78,822 tons of import cargo and 27,207 tons of export tonnage, which also included 4,769 tons of rice.
The following ships are due on Saturday: Al-Maqwa, with high speed diesel, Parvat, Jamila and Trade Fast, with containers.
KARACHI, Jan 4: A ship, Abra, scheduled to load 16,800 tons wheat arrived at the outer anchorage during the last 24 hours, says a PQA press release on Friday.
Three ships, Entrlina, Fratiz and Azure were at the wharves busy in discharging edible oil, general cargo, and coal respectively.
Fratiz, after discharging 12,900 tons general cargo sailed out on Friday morning.
The port handled some 20,834 tons cargo, exclusively imports, including 8,957 tons palm oil, 11,300 tons coal and 577 tons general cargo.
