Shahrukh and Tanvir in semifinals

LAHORE, Aug 6: All-Punjab Independence tennis tournament has entered  the semifinal stage at the Punjab Tennis Association Coaching Centre on Wednesday. The competitions  in   U-12,  14  singles  and  U-18 singles and doubles reached the last four stage.

Results are: Under-12 (quarterfinals): Mohammad Waqas Malik bt Usman Sikandar 7-5, 6-1; Haider Zaidi  bt Rohail  Rafi  6-0, 6-4; Saad Mubarik bt Danish Ilyas  6-3,  6-4; Heera Ashiq bt Talha Nadeem 6-2, 6-3.

Under-14 (quarterfinals): Omer Babar bt Waqas 6-1, 6-3;  Tanveer Munir  bt Fahad Ali 6-1, 6-1; Ahmad Aslam bt Shehryar Niazi  6-2, 6-2; Jehangir Haider bt Salman Saif 6-3, 6-1.

Under-18 (two quarterfinals were decided): Shahrukh  Niazi  bt Omer Latif 6-1, 6-1; Tanvir  Ashiq  bt  Ahmad Aslam 6-7, 6-1, 6-3.

Under-18 doubles (quarterfinals): Wasif Cheema-Akbar Patodi bt Ghulam Hussain-Hammad Ahmad 6-1,  6-3; Tanveer Munir-Ahmad Aslam bt Talal Khan-Shehryar Niazi 6-3, 6-0; Omer Babar-Khurram Nazir bt Salman Aslam-Pervaiz Masih 6-0, 6-3; Sharukh Niazi-Tanveer Ashiq bt Omer Latif-Fahad Ali 6-4, 6-2.
