MITHI, Aug 6: The growers of Thar, whose crops have been completely destroyed by the heavy rains and are lacking financial resources to re-cultivate their farms, have appealed to the government to provide them small loans so as to enable them to buy seeds and other essential items.
They have also demanded remission of agriculture loans .
The residents of different colonies of Mithi town have urged the town as well as the district administration to take prompt measures to drain out rainwater, which has created filthy conditions and become a breeding ground for mosquitoes, flies and other insects.—BoC
