DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Six Pakistanis working for a Polish oil and gas surveying company, who were kidnapped from Frontier Region of Dera Ismail Khan in November 2016, were set free by their captors here on Monday.

Six Pakistani workers of the firm were kidnapped by unknown kidnappers from a company vehicle from Drazinda area, some 80km from the district headquarters here, and were set free on Monday after six months.

It merits a mention here that a polish engineer from the same company was beheaded by militants after his kidnapping by Taliban from Attock in 2008.

The political administration of South Waziristan Agency played important role in safe release of the Pakistani employees.

After being liberated, the workers met SWA Political Agent Zaffarul Slam Khattak and thanked him for his untiring efforts in their safe release.

The political administration said the employees would soon reach their homes.
