Pakistani guitar maestro Aamir Zaki passed away Friday evening.

He will be remembered as one of the finest jazz, blues and rock'n'roll guitar players to have come out of Pakistan.

His songs are timeless anthems, having been the soundtrack for two generations' heartbreak and angst.

Here are eight of his most memorable tracks:

Mera Pyar

Tumhari Aankhon Mein

Bhula Dayna

Iss Bar Melo with Aamir Zaki

You Need That Fire

The Day She Left

Jana Tumse Milna Ka Ye Bahana

Chehra ft. Aamir Zaki

Listened to Chehra (Coke Studio) and he sounded a world apart. A talented, and seemingly troubled, man. Only the good die young. Prayers are with family. May he rest in peace.

litening to mera pyar is one of the best childhood memories I have. He was cool but in his own understated way.

A stage where even the established musicians look nervous, he sat like samurai, inseparable from his sword.

I knew him when we were teenagers. I remember an afternoon what was meant to be a jamming session turned out to be a solo performance. He was incredibly talented and knew it. We lost touch when I moved away. Very sorry to hear that he is gone.

Suffered silently and no one came to rescue, failed his heart & broke million more. We surely belong to God and to Him we shall return.
