KASUR, Aug 4: Five members of a family were shot dead by 15 people over an old enmity in Lambey Khalsa, Chunian, here on Monday morning.

Mohammed Hasan, his sons Idrees (24), Shafiq (20), Wazir Ali (14) and daughter Ghafooran Bibi (18) were asleep when Abdul Sattar along with 14 accomplices entered the house and shot them dead.

The bodies have been sent to the DHQ Hospital for autopsy.

In another incident, a woman shot dead her lover in Key Morr, Phool Nagar.

Police said Khurshid Bibi had developed relations with Ashraf and wanted to marry him, but he refused. Khurshid Bibi took him to nearby fields and shot him dead.

Police have registered a case.

RAPED: Two women were raped in different incidents here on Monday.

In Bhila Hathar, Hanif was going along with his wife when Jamil along with three accomplices intercepted them. They tied Hanif up with a tree and raped his wife.

In the second incident, Ismail along with an accomplice entered the house of Zulfiqar in Aakey Key Rasoolpur, Illahabad, and fled after raping his wife.

WATER THIEVES: An irrigation department team caught 122 farmers red-handed stealing canal water here on Sunday.

The team raided Meer Mohammed, Raja Jang and Mustafabad villages and caught these farmers stealing water.
