GWADAR: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Turbat’s Office of Research Innovation and Commercialisation (Oric) and the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda), Balochistan.
According to the MoU, both institutions will work together to promote entrepreneurship among the youth of Balochistan by setting up an ‘Entrepreneurship Development Centre’ at the university. The centre is expected to develop their entrepreneurial skills and provide a platform for growth.
The memorandum called for organising different capacity-building training programmes for students and develop their interaction and primary linkage with the institutions and commercial world.
Oric Director Abdul Majid Nasir and Smeda’s provincial chief Shakoor Ahmed signed the MoU in Quetta in presence of the university’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir.
The VC said the university was determined to produce job providers instead of job seekers and this memorandum would help students start their own businesses.
