PESHAWAR: The employees of Workers Welfare Board have expressed concern over the non-payment of salaries to them for last one year and demanded of the provincial government to release the pending salaries for the sake of holy month of Ramazan.
Talking to mediapersons here on Saturday, the workers leader Shah Zulqarnain said that following the 18th amendment and devolution of powers to provinces, the problems of workers had been increased manifold. They warned to observe sit-in outside the Chief Minister House if the demands were not met at the earliest.
The provinces, he said were unable to run the institutions while the federal government was least bothered to extend financial support. Besides, he said the contractual workers were facing worst situation and their families were unable to lead life with honour as they could not pay schooling of their children and utility bills.
