Popular TV host Nadia Khan has said that her 14-year-old daughter was physically assaulted during an audition in Dubai.

According to a report in Gulf News, the auditions were taking place at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in JBR on May 20. The casting event was held by a company that represents some of the biggest music and television shows in the US.

In an interview with Gulf News, she shared, "My daughter wanted to audition for this Disney thing happening here in Dubai. She was given two lines to read. When she said her lines, this person grabbed her from the shoulders and pulled her. It happened so quickly. He said his line. Before he also said lines but he didn't touch anyone. He grabbed her very, very roughly. I couldn't watch very clearly. I couldn't understand what was happening. And then he pushed her and my daughter fell on a parent."

Upon being asked if the aggression was part of the scene for which her daughter auditioned, she replied, "Of course not. The lines were totally different [from that context]. They were two children talking. Nowhere do the lines suggest that this could happen."

The aggressive behaviour continued after the incident with Nadia Khan's daughter, she said.

"The next boy [who came up], the man started slapping him, once, twice, thrice... and then that boy slapped this man back. The slapping went on and on till that boy grabbed the man's hand. Even that boy was shattered. I could see tears in his eyes. Even that upset me a lot because I'm a mother. It happens to a boy or a girl, abuse is abuse. Nobody, no agent had the right to touch a child."

Nadia went on to say that when she tried to raise the issue with the organisers, she was rudely asked to leave. According to Gulf News, Nadia called the police at the venue and the company’s CEO was held for questioning, causing the auditions to come to an end.

Gulf News also adds that Nadia claims that she took her daughter to Dubai’s Rashid Hospital where a medical report concluded that the multiple bruises on both arms were caused by assault.

We have reached out to Nadia Khan and await a response.

OMG! How can this happen? Nadia did a good job by bringing her daughter to hospital to get a medical report. This will help her in filing case against organized for misbehaving the children. Other boy should seek medical advice as well.

This shows all the respect Pakistanis can have is in their own country so start building it up. No matter how much black money our Country politicians take outside of Pakistan, they can not enjoy a respect what they or their family can get in Pakistan.

Do not let go. Register a case with Dubai police. They take such matters very very serious. I am aware that the Dubai police will take over and bring the guy to jail without further turmoil for the child.

@Amir Shahzad Dear Amir I will put it differently, probably the man who assaulted was white, and as such was despising talent from our sub continent. Miss Nadia hasn't specified whetehr the boy who was also assaulted was from Pakistan? The matter should hv been reported to Police.

Thank you Nadia for reporting the incident both to the police and the news media, and for taking your daughter to the doctor so that an official medical report confirming the assault could be filed. It's very important to take these steps so that the perpetrators are caught and punished by law. Most parents hide their daughters after an assault. I'm glad that you took the bold step of exposing the assaulter, which is the real way of saving your child's dignity.

@Mustafa "That is why women should wear decent clothes and not bare their arms" For God's sake, what kind of sick mind you have? The child is only 14. People like you will then find excuses to cover women faces when some derange throws acid on them.

This is an outright criminal act. A boy and girl have been assaulted in public view infront of witnesses and there is no reason why the offender should go unpunished along with The organizers who allowed this to happen & not only ignored it but when notified, they were indifferent & rude to the mother who brought it to their attention.

Seems like there was miscommunication on part of the organizer and audition actors. The accused guy should be questioned and reprimanded for over stepping the boundaries of professionalism. Parents should be prepared mentally to watch auditions with a bit of emotional control.

Nadia Khan should sue Disney. She has enough evidence to prove her daughter's injuries. The mindset will change after a big negative publicity of the company. Find a good American attorney and you will be glad,.
