ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif returned home on Thursday after a week-long visit to China, where he participated in the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) forum.

During his stay in China, the premier met Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang. Several agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) relating to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects were signed between the two countries. CPEC is the flagship programme of the OBOR.

Mr Sharif also held bilateral meetings with several heads of state and government on the sidelines of the forum. In the first leg of his visit to China, Mr Sharif was accompanied by the chief ministers of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and Sindh.
