KARACHI: Former Sri Lankan World Cup winner Kumar Dharmasena and South Africa’s Marais Erasmus will officiate in the high-octane ICC Champions Trophy clash between Pakistan and India at Edgbaston in Birmingham early next month.

According to an International Cricket Council (ICC) media release issued on Thursday. England’s Richard Kettle­borough will perform TV umpire duties in the June 4 fixture with ex-Zimbabwe batsman Andy Pycroft acting as the match referee.

In Pakistan’s remaining group match at Edgbaston on June 7, England’s Richard Illingworth — who was last man dismissed when Imran Khan’s charges clinched the 1992 World Cup — and Bruce Oxenford of Australia will be the on-field umpires with India’s Sundaram Ravi the TV official and ex-England opener Chris Broad the match referee.

Oxenford and Erasmus would then team up as on-field umpires for Pakistan’s last pool game against Sri Lanka at Cardiff’s Sophia Gardens on June 12. Chris Gaffaney of New Zealand will be the TV umpire with the match referee being Broad.

The tournament’s opening match between hosts England and Bangladesh at The Oval on June 1 will be supervised by Australia’s Rod Tucker and Ravi as on field officials with Oxenford TV umpire and Australia’s David Boon match referee.

Pakistan’s Aleem Dar, who is due to stand in his fifth Champions Trophy, will partner Ian Gould of England as on-field umpires during the Sri Lanka-South Africa encounter on June 3 at The Oval where Paul Reiffel, the former Australian paceman who was part of Steve Waugh-led World Cup-winning team in 1999, will be the TV umpire with compatriot Boon, another World Cup winner in 1987, officiating as the match referee.

Aleem has nominated as TV umpire for the New Zealand-Bangladesh tie at Cardiff on June 9 where the England pair of Gould and Nigel Llong are the on-field officials with Broad as match referee.

Aleem and Reiffel will be on the field at The Oval on June 11 with Illingworth monitoring TV replays and Boon supervising as the match referee.

In another showpiece match at Edgbaston where Ashes rivals England and Australia face each other, Dharmasena and Gaffaney are the on-field umpires, Ravi TV official and Pycroft match referee.

The ICC also named match officials for six warm-ups and fourth umpire for all main-round matches. The officials for the semi-finals at Cardiff on June 14 and Edgbaston on June 15 and the final at The Oval on June 18 will be announced at the conclusion of the preliminary-round matches.

May 30: New Zealand vs Sri Lanka at Edgbaston — Richard Kettleborough and Paul Reiffel (on-field), Richard Illingworth (reserve umpire), Chris Broad (match referee)

May 30: India vs Bangladesh at The Oval — Marais Erasmus and Nigel Llong (on-field), Aleem Dar (third umpire), Bruce Oxenford (fourth umpire), David Boon (match referee)
