Two Women killed

PESHAWAR, Aug 1: Two women, one of them a divorcee, were killed on Friday, police officials said.

The police said that the divorcee, Robina Shaheen, was killed by unidentified assailants while she was asleep in her house in the city’s Shadipir area.

The deceased, who lived all by herself, was killed by using a sharp-edged weapon, the police said.

In the other incident, a man, Hanifur Rehman, accused his sister’s in-laws of having poisoned her.

Accusing his sister’s husband, Arshad, of intolerable behaviour, he said that during the short period of their marriage his sister, Naz Bibi, had returned home thrice.

He said that his sister had returned with her husband on the assurances of her father-in-law, Saifur Rehman.

He accused her in-laws of poisoning her after she had gone back to her husband’s house.
