Pickpockets arrested

ISLAMABAD: The police apprehended a group of alleged pickpockets who robbed people on the metro bus and recovered stolen cash from them, police said on Sunday.

A special team apprehended four pickpockets, and recovered Rs32,500 cash as well as a car from their possession.

During investigation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in multiple cases of theft on metro buses, at bus stops and in other areas. They said they used the car to escape after robbing people, and said they had committed such thefts in various districts in Punjab.

Separately, Tarnol police arrested a man and seized 1.1kg of hashish from him, while Sihala police arrested an individual and recovered 550 grams of hashish.

Lohi Bher police arrested a suspects and recovered 230g of hashish from him.

Noon police arrested a man suspected of involvement in robberies, and recovered a 30-bore pistol and ammunition from him, while Crime Investigation Agency police recovered an illicit 30-bore pistol from a possession of an arrested suspect. Kohsar police arrested a foreigner for carrying a counterfeit passport.
