ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to consult all stakeholders before formation of the eighth wage board for journalists and to seek legal opinion from the Law and Justice Division to “facilitate the constitution” of the body.
The decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by Marriyum Aurangzeb, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, on Friday.
Ms Aurangzeb said the government was committed to freedom of expression and to protecting the journalists’ fundamental rights .
Senior officials of the ministry of information and broadcasting also attended the meeting.
