Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Tuesday morning killed four members of the banned Jandullah militant group, said a statement released by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing identified the four militants as Zahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Mama and a lady facilitator, Afshan.

ISPR said the militants were involved in a blast targeting a Special Security Unit bus on March 15, 2015. They also carried out a hand grenade attack and fired on Karachi City Courts, assisting four other terrorists to escape.

The militants were involved in killing of 15 to 20 members of the Shia community, and attacked a Rangers vehicle which killed four personnel, ISPR added.

The militants killed had also robbed two banks and made away with millions. They were also involved in the kidnapping of a political worker for ransom.

ISPR said they were also involved in digging of a tunnel and planning an attack on Karachi Central Jail in 2015.

The targeted operation was carried out by Rangers personnel in Karachi's Urdu Bazaar area on Monday night.

Lasting nearly seven hours, the targeted operation ended at 2:45am on Tuesday, with one suspected militant shot dead in a shootout with Rangers and three other militants killed in suicide blasts.
