MUMBAI, July 31: Seven people, including a toddler, were killed and 32 injured in India on Thursday when a blast ripped through the home of a man who supplied explosives to Bollywood film units, officials said.
Police said the explosion, which severely damaged at least 15 houses in a crowded working-class area in Mumbai’s northwestern suburb of Jogeshwari, appeared to be an accident.
“Other things cannot be ruled out, but this explosion cannot be linked right now to the Ghatkopar bus blast,” an official said. Mumbai has been jittery since Monday, when a bus blast killed two people and injured 47 in the northeastern suburb of Ghatkopar.—Reuters
