THE lynching of Mashal Khan by a frenzied mob of students and university personnel is a microcosm of the mindset that prevails in our society.

With a good chunk of the country’s population hostage to the rantings and fulminations of local prayer leaders, mob rule is the order of the day.

Such incidents happened in the past, are happening now and will happen in the future too.

The fact that the lynching took place in a university shows how far we have ‘progressed’. A faculty on lynching appears in order!
