KARACHI: Show 1 on Day 2 of the QMobile Hum Bridal Couture Week started with Amina Yasmeen by Mansoor Akram showing bridals/formals, and featuring Sanam Chaudhry and Gia Ali which was followed by Ayesha & Usman Qamar’s Enchanted Garden about floral tones and romance. Faika Karim with Noorie and Umsha by Uzma Babar’s Forever was presented to a performance by singer Aima Baig and featured Mansha Pasha, Cyra Shehroz, Zhalay Sarhadi and international artiste Kent in showstopper creations, bringing the show to an end.
Show 2 opened with Fahad Hussayn delving into the imaginary realm with the dramatic Dara Shikoh Aur Sunehri Churail. Azfar Rehman and Mehwish Hayat walked in the segment for the designer while Ahmed Sultan’s Kingdom of Alliums had Hira & Mani.
Finally, the power-packed segment titled The Classic Red featured 14 established designers showing one outfit each and included Adnan Pardesy, Ali Xeeshan, Faraz Manan, Farah Talib Aziz, Karma, Maheen Taseer, Mehdi, Misha Lakhani, Sania Maskatiya, Shamaeel Ansari, Tena Durrani, Elan, Zaheer Abbas and Zara Shahjahan.
Day 3, Show 1 had Asifa & Nabeel’s A Roaring Melodrama that showcased a soft palette high on bling and dramatic metallic embellishments. Annus Abrar was next with Shehnai that pitched old-world charm with modern-day sensibilities.
Junaid Khan’s live performance was the highlight of Emraan Rajput’s Chashme Shahi The Royal Spring ornate menswear collection that was based on tones of maroon, green, blue and black.
Sana Abbas’ Noor put on the ramp Sonia Hussain with heavily-embellished fabrics such as organza, net, lame, brocade and jamawar in shades of ebony, ivory, pastel pink, aqua blue and dusky gray.
All three days of the QHBCW featured jewellery by Shafaq Habib with hair and make-up by Nabila’s N-Pro and N-Gents and styled by Sweet Touch. Show direction and choreography was by Vaneeza Ahmed and backstage management by Muneera and Aamir of Production 021.
Show 2 of Day 3 featured Nickie Nina’s Nouvelle Mariee Vol II, Ahsan’s Menswear Samjhota and Sonya Battla’s Kashmir inspired by Kashmiri crafts.
