Two members of Karachi University's teachers' association have been taken into custody by law enforcement agencies while they were on their way to Karachi Press Club, DawnNews reported.
According to DawnNews, Meher Afroz Murad and Dr Riaz were allegedly picked up under the suspicion of being associated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-London).
However, MQM leader and Raabita Committee Member Wasay Jalil told Dawn.com that the two have no association with the political party and said, "They are just professors and were raising their voice against illegal detention of Dr Hasan Zafar Arif on an independent basis and were demanding their release."

This is nothing but sheer discrimination from establishment. Every party has right to protest what ever they think is right for their cause.

@Muhammad Usman isn't it a shame that an academy of age 80 years is being prisoned without any charges and looters and murderers are roaming free and the biggest shame is people still justify it

Dr Hasan Zafar Arif is in safe hands enjoying sumptuous foods, please don't try to obtain political mileage out of his protective custody. The LEAs are politely trying to convince Dr Sahib, that you are on the wrong side, and he
is daily given access to what diatribes are relayed via YouTube from London.Soon he will dissociate himself from MQM(L)and will be free, and ofcourse we all respect our professors from core of our respect, because he is senior citizen, and we always think for goodness for seniors.
