QUETTA: Five people, among them four members of an Afghan family, were killed and four others injured in two road accidents on Tuesday.

“The car overturned at a turn and its driver lost control over it, resulting in the death of all the four persons on the spot,” a Levies official said, adding that the deceased were two women, a man and a minor boy.

Levies officials said that the family belonged to Afghanistan and was residing in the Girdi-Jungle Afghan refugee camp.

Law enforcement agencies personnel shifted the bodies to the district hospital and handed them over to heirs after completion of medico-legal formalities.

In the other accident, a man died and four other persons received injuries when a Wapda pick-up overturned apparently because of speeding in the Killi Mardan area near Shahrag in Harnai district.

The victims were going to Harnai from Quetta. The injured were shifted to the district hospital.

The man who died in the hospital was identified as Afrasiyab and the injured as Naveed Ahmed, Fareed Ahmed, Daniyal and Samiullah.
