THE Sindh Sound System (Regulation) Act was passed in 2015. Its Clause 5 says that the officer in-charge of the area police station will inspect the sound system in the area to ensure compliance accordingly and shall maintain a record of all inspections.
It seems that the enactment is not being followed as Block 3 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Karachi, is greatly affected by the increased sound of songs played at a newly-opened restaurant in the residential area, even at late night.
Authorities should look into the matter and provide relief to the residents.
