Research conducted last year by the Centre for WorkLife Law and the Society for Women Engineers found that in the US, women engineers face an enduring ‘prove-it-again’ bias. According to a survey of more than 3,000 engineers, 61pc of women of all races said that they had to constantly prove themselves over and over again to get the same level of recognition as their colleagues, while only 35pc of white men said the same.
