KARACHI: A delegation of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) will visit Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) from Monday to Wednesday.

According to a Foreign Office press release, the eight-member team will be led by chairperson of the commission, Med S. Kaggwa.

The delegation will visit AJK and refugee camps in the region to gain understanding of the Kashmir dis-pute.

It will hold meetings with the prime minister, adviser to the prime minister on foreign affairs and minister for Kashmir affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan as well as the Azad Jammu and Kashmir leadership.

The IPHRC asked the Indian authorities for access to India-held Kashmir to assess the human rights situation there but had received no response to date, the Foreign Office said.
