SIALKOT, Jan 3: The chairman, international association of British Pakistanis Khurshid Ahmad, has offered full cooperation and some direct trade relationship to the business community of Sialkot for enhancing bilateral trade between Pakistan and Great Britain.
He was addressing a joint meeting of local traders, industrialists and exporters at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Thursday, after visiting various industrial units in Sambrial, Daska and Sialkot amid tight security.
The president, AJK Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Zulfiqar Abbasi, the chairman, Mirpur Dry Port, Raja Muhammad Jamil and the president, Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Daud Ahmad Chatta were also present in the meeting.
The chairman, international association of British Pakistanis, Khurshid Ahmad said that there are bright opportunities of setting up various joint ventures between United Kingdom (England) and Pakistan in different trade fields. He said adequate efforts would be made for the early establishment of joint ventures between the two countries.
He said UK and Pakistan are enjoying healthy trade relations and it is high time to strengthen these trade ties. He assured the Sialkot business community about the early provision of up-to-date trade information about the British markets.
He proposed that both the countries should establish a bilateral business council to explore the possibilities of launching a joint venture in trade, investment, industrial and information technology.
This joint business council’s forum should be kept feeding with trade information to promote the trading opportunities between the two countries.
He assured his full cooperation for further accelerating the pace of export activities between England and Pakistan.
SCCI president Daud Ahmad Chatta welcomed the offer of joint ventures with British business community, and hoped that it would be helpful in promoting the mutual trade activities and enhancing the exports of both the countries.
