KARACHI: Raza Sawani, Zubair Raja, Noor-e-Mustafa and Parbat Kumar got off to fine starts when they overcame their respective opponents in the Under-18 Singles event on the opening day of the inaugural McDonald’s National Juniors Tennis Championship which commenced here on Thursday at the Karachi Gymkhana hard courts.

Under-14 singles (first round): Ali Junaid bt Ammar Ismail 2-6, 6-4, 10-7; Arham Arif Rasool bt Ayan Mohammad Khan 6-2, 6-4; Hani Mohsin Siddiqui bt Shayryar 6-1, 6-1; Asim Gul bt Arhan Naveed 6-3, 6-0; Mohammad Ali Mustafa bt Mustafa Imran Motiwala.

Under-10 singles: Hasan Jamal bt Arish Atiq 4-0, 4-0; Hamza Anwar bt Raeed Bilal 4-2, 4-2; Sharaiz Khalid bt Hammad Naveed 4-1, 4-2; Yahya Ahson Raheem bt Hamza Abbasi 4-0, 4-0.
