MUZAFFARABAD: Two more civilians were injured in Kotli district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in Indian shelling from across the Line of Control, police said on Sunday.

Mohammad Shakil, 14, and Hammad Ali, 9, suffered injuries when shells landed close to their houses in Balakot village of the Nakyal sector at about 10pm on Saturday, Inspector Iftikhar told Dawn.

They were taken to tehsil headquarters hospital in Nakyal and were out of danger, he added.

Kotli district’s Nakyal, Khuiratta and Goi sectors were intermittently hit by Indian troops from early Saturday morning to late night.

Earlier in the day (Saturday), a woman was killed and a man wounded in Khuiratta and Goi sectors.
