PO shoots,injures 17

LAHORE, July 25: An alleged proclaimed offender reportedly shot and injured 17 people, including 11 passersby, two policemen, his uncle and three of his family members, in Ramgargh, Mughalpura, on Friday.

The police said PO Qaiser Rashid had been set free from a jail recently. He had a dispute with his uncle, Chaudhry Hafeez.

He visited him and opened fire on him after an argument. Hafeez and three of his family suffered injuries.

The police reached there in response to a call by neighbours. On seeing them, Qaiser resorted to indiscriminate firing on them, leaving two policemen and 11 passersby injured.

They have been admitted to a nearby hospital. Four of them were stated to be in critical condition. A case was registered with no arrest.
