KARACHI: Deedar Azeem and Zia-ul-Haq both excelled with match-winning centuries as three further matches were decided in the KCCA Inter-departmental Cricket League here on Wednesday.

Deedar struck 15 boundaries and three sixes in scoring 113 off 106 balls to help Anis Hussain & Company post a challenging 343-7 in their 50 overs against ACME Technologies at the Nazir Hussain Young Fighter Gulberg Ground.

Slow left-armer Naveed Al-Amin claimed five wickets for 48 runs but his team folded up for 246 in the run chase to lose by 97 runs.

Zia-ul-Haq hammered 127 off 118 balls (nine fours and three sixes), Mohammad Sufyan 76 (10 fours and four sixes) and Mohammad Wali 50 (seven fours and three sixes) as Pakistan Custom MCC Preventive Services Club collected 357-9 against Soni Associates at the Lawai Cricket Stadium in Naya Nazimabad.

Soni Associates’ response ended at 223 in the 39th over to suffer a 134-run drubbing despite Ali Iqbal (67, eight boundaries and a brace of sixes) and Rashid Izhar (64, six fours and three sixes) playing fighting knocks.

After his heroics with bat Zia grabbed three wickets for only nine runs.

Tauseef Khan slammed 91 from 99 balls (five fours and three sixes) and Aaqib Rizvi 78 (seven fours and one six) as Shan Foods reached 289-8 against Practical Schooling System at the RLCA Gulberg Ground.

Shan Foods eventually won by 60 runs after Practical Schooling System replied with 229-9. Abdullah Khan (58 not out, five fours and two sixes) and Mohammad Yasir (54, five boundaries) both batted well.
