QUETTA: Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal has accused tribal nawabs and sardars of usurping the natural resources which belong to the deprived people of the province.

Speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of party’s office-bearers at the Babaiy Nushki ground on Saturday, he said the BNP-M would continue struggle for achieving the rights of the Balochistan people.

Accusing Punjab of grabbing resources of other provinces to safeguard its interests, he said: “We do not want anything from Punjab, only the ownership of natural resources, including oil and gas produced in this province.” The party, he said, would never compromise on the rights of people. Jobs were being created only for the people of Punjab in the name of development and by setting up industries, laying railway lines, constructing highways and establishing power projects, Mr Mengal said.
