KARACHI: Syed Aaqib Hussain struck a blazing century as Shan Foods humbled Shahid Afridi Foundation by 30 runs in their KCCA Inter Depa­rtmental Cricket League at the Landhi Gymkhana Ground in the on Friday.

Aaqib scored 162 to help his side collect 282-6 in the allotted 50 overs, His 125-ball innings was embellished with 11 boundaries and six sixes. Syed Shiraz Ali hit five fours and one six in making 39.

Shahid Afridi Foundation, in reply, were dismissed for 252 in 48.1 overs despite Rabaish Ahmed scoring 62 (eight fours and one six), Sami Afridi 51 (six fours and three sixes) and Fawad Akram Afridi 44 (two sixes and two fours).

Slow left-armer Danish Farooqui picked up three wickets for 39 runs, while off-spinner Akhtar Waheed Kiyani grabbed 3-40.
