DADU: Former adviser to Sindh chief minister on information Moula Bux Chandio said on Monday that if Pakistan Peoples Party’s members of Dadu district council were found involved in terrorism, the party would not support them.

He said PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari would visit the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine soon and claimed the provincial government had provided adequate care to the blast victims at hospitals.

Talking to journalists after visiting the shrine and the blast victims at the Sehwan hospital, Mr Chandio said the chief minister and his cabinet were monitoring the government hospitals to ensure the blast victims were provided quality care.

He saw the hand of foreign elements in the recent incidents of terrorism in Sindh and said it was the responsibility of the federal government to eliminate terrorism from the country.

Mr Chandio, who is central information secretary of PPP, said that it was sad the prime minister arrived in Sehwan after the blast but did not dare visit the shrine, which showed his visit was only a formality.

He said that Chaudhry Nisar had failed as the interior minister and was, therefore, damaging his boss’ position. The federal government should implement the National Action Plan (NAP) in letter and spirit as it was its responsibility to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, he said.

‘Interior minister responsible for resurgence of terrorism’

HYDERABAD: Mr Chandio has said that terrorism is resurging across the country because Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has failed to implement the NAP.

He was speaking to journalists at the Liaquat University Hospital’s city branch on Monday after enquiring after the health of patients who were injured in a cracker blast on Sunday night.

He said that those who carried out the blast would fail in their nefarious designs as they would never succeed in demoralising people.

He said the Sindh government had taken strict security measures to pre-empt and counter terrorism throughout the province.

The conspiracies of anti-Pakistan elements to destabilise the country would be foiled, he said, adding the party extended full cooperation to the military leadership in its fight against terrorism.

He blamed the federal interior minister for the fresh wave of terrorism and said it was the result of the minister’s failure to implement NAP. The federal government’s attitude was not so forthcoming to the provincial government but PPP would never leave its people alone in their time of trial, he said.
