Former captain Shahid Afridi said that he has been kept unaware of the round table conference being held in Lahore for the betterment of national teams.

“I am not aware of the conference, I heard it from the media that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited current and former test cricketers,” said Afridi at an award ceremony held in Karachi for the throwball team which won a silver medal.

“If It is happening then it is a really good step by the PCB to discuss cricket affairs with cricketers,” he said adding that if the PCB call him for the conference then he is always available.

“I am always available for cricket and for my country. Whenever PCB calls me for cricket, I’ll give my maximum input,” he said.

Meanwhile, talking in regards to PSL, he hoped that in this season he hopes to see at least a good fast bowler and a middle order batsman who can score runs for the national team.

“PSL is giving a chance to young players and I hope to see some emerging players for the national team,” said Afridi.

He also said that holding the PSL final in Pakistan is a great step by Najam Sethi.

“PSL is made for Pakistan, so more and more matches should be held in Pakistan and its big cities to promote the game,” said the former captain.
