Arguably the finest short story writer in Urdu, Saadat Hasan Manto was also an accomplished columnist, feature writer, playwright for radio and to a certain extent a fine movie script writer.

Mirza Ghalib used a Manto screenplay but it was made after he had left.

I gave this quiz about Manto on Dawn online website on the occasion of Manto's 62nd death anniversary yesterday. Proud to have scored ten on ten, and I still feel there's so much to learn, un-learn and re-learn about the grandmaster of Urdu fiction!Manto lives...

hi, very nice. i have selectively read Mantos......thanda gosht, tt singh, etc. His writings reflected realities than portraying simple myths. All for a while he proved incredibly honest in his writings. Cheers

9 out of 10 though 2 were lucky guess. Manto was the greatest short story writer of 20th century.
